PPB Conducts Human Trafficking Mission on 82nd Avenue (Photo)
The Portland Police Bureau’s Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) continues to conduct proactive anti-trafficking efforts through directed patrol missions along Northeast 82nd Avenue. On Thursday, July 18, 2024, HTU had assistance from East Precinct, North and Central Precinct’s Neighborhood Response Teams, the Specialized Resources Division, Detective Division, Victim Services Unit, and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.

PF&R responds to greater alarm fire on Ross IslandOn Saturday afternoon, Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a reported large vegetation fire on Ross Island. This fire grew in intensity and size where a 3rd alarm fire response was requested to be certain there was significant resources available to address the fire. Crews worked until nightfall and then returned the following day after daybreak to finish the extinguishment process. There was a member from PF&R that was sent home due

Today marks 10 years since a homicide in the Woodstock Neighborhood and the Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Unit is asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.
On Tuesday July 22, 2014, at 10:56 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting at Southeast 57th Avenue and Southeast Harold Street. When officers arrived, they found Paul W. Krekeler, 19-years-old at the time, deceased. The Medical Examiner determined Krekeler died of homicide by gunshot wound.

Two Injured in Shooting at North Portland Park
Two people were injured in a shooting at a North Portland park.
On Friday, July 19, 2024, at approximately 4:05 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at Dawson Park in North Portland. When officers arrived, they located one gunshot victim who was subsequently transported to the hospital. An additional gunshot victim went to the hospital on their own. Both are expected to survive. The suspect(s) had fled the scene before officers arrived.
