A man is facing bias crime and assault charges following attacks in the Hazelwood Neighborhood.
On Monday, February 5, 2024, East Precinct officers responded to reports of an assault at an apartment in the 12000 block of Southeast Ash Street. Officers located an adult male suffering from minor injuries. Officers determined the man was punched in the face by a neighbor who had called him a racial slur in the past. Major Crash Team Responded To Downtown Crash Involving Bicyclist
On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 9:31 p.m., officers from the Central Precinct responded to a crash near the intersection of Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Alder Street. Officers arrived to find a crash between a bicyclist and a sport utility vehicle (SUV). The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
