For me, it is time to let go when the relationship becomes one-sided. There is no point in having a relationship by yourself or having one with someone's voicemail, e-mail, etc.

I think the time would come when you both aren't happy and you dont enjoy one anothers company. I would always recommend working on rebuilding the relationship and give it a last try before doing something drastic.

Then again, i split with my girlfriend for another a month, and got back with her and have been with her for nearly 5 years now... My dad split with my mum for about 4 months and realised what he was losing out on and come back. Its just sometimes some people need there own space.

Its usually a good time to end it when 1 starts getting fussy over little things that you both used to laugh about. not always. When you find that it is One-sided confront your partner about this problem and see what the problem is before diagnosing a break up, otherwise it could be something little that one is just upset with.

All relationships are different, so the time to end them will be different fro everyone. If you feel that you do not love the other person anymore, or if they do not love you anymore the confront them. Talk about your problems and see what can be done. Then you can decide together if staying together or breaking up is the best choice.

Going off of what hoff stated, relationships can lead to many different roads to breaking up or staying together. My personal opinion on the different indications that tell me that a relationship isn't going anywhere:

-You 2 fight even more frequently over irrelevant topics
- Can't spend time with friends
- Wanting to have a kid but the other spouse doesn't
- One person likes spending money and the other likes saving money
- If on of them is cheating on the other
- or any kind of relation to cheating on the other

Just a few.
