maybe I'm just a Luddite, but I refuse to get one... just because I can pretty well find a phone wherever I am and I'm not that unreachable!

some times i wish i was un connected lol. But i curently reside about a mile from a national forest and i get zero reception unless i make my way to the city. Not sure why i continue to pay for the cellphone since im home most of the time and cannot use it anyways lol

I am "unconnected". i feel you on this subject there are way to get a hold of me. if its important leave a message on the voicemail but usually its not important so why get a phone unless your job will pay for one

I guess I'm persona non grata in this thread - I'm super-connected. Just purchased a high-end phone with Windows Mobile 5 and unlimited data - but that's really the rub, I would rather have the unlimited data and access to the net and email than the ability for people to talk to me at any time via phone!

I'm taking side with Thumperfive. Cellphones to me are another variation of a ball and chain. You can't get away from it, yet you need it to survive once you've been lured into thinking you need one. Sure it would be nice to call to arrange a meeting with someone or talk to a friend if you've come across a bump in the road. For myself, I don't care for the decrease in the amount of privacy you have to endure, just to have a 2 ply plastic piece you have to hold up to your ear to look successful or "cool" No thank You Cellphones have their purpose such as emergencies but thats really all I can think of for real productive use, other than if your job requires it.
